Küçük Vicky kokuları ayırt etme konusunda doğaüstü bir yeteneğe sahiptir, üstelik istediği kokuyu yeniden üretmeyi de becerir. Senagalli itfaiyeci babası Jimmy’den aldığı saçları ve melezliği okulda alay konusu olunca koku alma yeteneğine tutunur. Su jimnastiği eğitmeni annesi Joanne hayattaki en kıymetli varlığıdır, gizli gizli onun kokusunu istifler. Bir gün çıkagelen halası Julia evin düzenini altüst eder, hapisten yeni çıkmıştır. On yıldır ortalarda görünmeyen, ilk bakışta pek hazzetmediği halasının kokusunu da koleksiyonuna katar. Bu kokular aracılığıyla karanlık hatıralara giden yolu bulur.
Young Vicky has a supernatural gift: her sense of smell is so sharp, she can discern and reproduce any scent. Vicky, who is bullied at school for her mixed race and hair passed onto her from her Senegalese firefighter father, clings to her special gift. A solitary child, she has a very strong bond with her mother Joanne, a water aerobics instructor, whose scent she also secretly captures. When her father’s sister Julia shows up out of nowhere, she violently disrupts their lives. Much to Joanne’s displeasure, Julia has recently been released from prison, bringing chaos with her. Vicky also begins to reproduce her scent to add it to her collection and she finds a way to explore dark memories with the help of these smells.
