Güney Koreli yönetmen Park Chan-wook, İhtiyar Delikanlı ve Hizmetçi gibi izleyeni içine çeken filmlerine bir yenisini daha ekledi: Ayrılma Kararı cinayet, aşk, tutku gibi temaları Chan-wook üslubuyla işleyen 50’li yılların dedektifli kara filmlerini aratmayacak bir yapım. Titiz dedektif Hae-joon mutsuz evliliğinden çok yaşadığı yerde çözebileceği cinayet sayısının az oluşuna üzülür. Nihayet teşkilata dişine göre bir cinayet haberi ulaşır. Yakınlardaki dağın eteğinde bir adamın cesedi bulunmuştur. Sorgulama sırasında umursamaz tavırlarıyla dikkat çeken maktulün gizemli karısı Seo-rae şüpheli listesinin başına yerleşir. Hae-joon bu cinayeti aydınlatmaya çalışırken giderek Seo-rae’nin cazibesine kapıldığını hisseder.
For those drawn to the likes of South Korean director Park Chan-wook’s films such as Old Boy and The Handmaiden here is another to add to the list: Decision to Leave works through murder, love and passion in the inimitable Chan-wook style that hearkens to the 50’s police-noire vibe. Devoted above all else to his work, meticulous detective Hae-joon is more concerned about the low rate murders in his area than about his unhappy marriage. Finally, news comes of a complicated murder case outside the unit’s normal jurisdiction. A man’s body is found on the side of a nearby mountain, during routine questioning the mysterious wife Seo-rae displays a most unusual lack of concern, placing her at the top of the suspects’ list. As the case proceeds Hae-joon becomes increasingly aware that he is drawn into Seo-rae’s orbit.
